About PCC Jazz
Pasadena City College offers a broad jazz and commercial music curriculum which includes multiple playing opportunities in our three full-size big bands, numerous combos, Latin jazz band and vocal jazz ensemble. We offer private instruction, three graduated courses in jazz improvisation, jazz and pop theory, composition and arranging, MIDI, multi-media, the Equal Interval System, Jazz and Rock history, African Studies and classes in Finale music software, as well as a host of related courses.

PCC Jazz Performances
Each semester students participate in a busy roster of performances both on and off campus, record a major CD, and are involved in jazz festivals and performances at top venues throughout the city and state.
PCC Music Department Ensembles and Courses
PCC's diversified music studies program includes five choirs, marching band and wind ensemble, an orchestra, opera workshop and music education classes. We offer courses in conducting, and piano accompanying as well.
PCC Music Department Graduates and Transfer Students
Music students from PCC boast of an excellent transfer rate to major universities and music conservatories. Our graduates are routinely awarded top scholarships after their tenure at PCC.
